The Church is located adjacent to our nation's capital, across the Potomac River, near the Pentagon. The original site is of historical significance in that it was the site of Freedmen's Village, an original settlement of newly freed slaves.
From Washington, D.C., take I-395 South, Exit 8A (towards Columbia Pike 27/244) from Washington. Stay in the right lane, and exit from Washington. onto Columbia Pike (Rt-244 South/West). St. John's Baptist Church is visible,on the right, after the first traffic light at Columbia Pike and Scott Street.
From the South, take I-95 (North) into I-395 North, take Exit 8A onto Washington Blvd., then Rt-244 (West) onto Columbia Pike. St. John's Baptist Church is visible on the right after the first traffic light at Columbia Pike and Scott Street.
